5a. In many instances, ideally, one may avoid the more unpleasant aspects of struggle by standing aside and allowing events to unfold. Once patience becomes a rare trait, in a culture that values instant gratification, the long view is a strength. Often, the last man standing need not a have fought at all. Resources are thus saved. Of course, the real work involves cleaning up the aftermath.

4c. Both Soldier Archetypes and This Modern Warrior Archetype must take great care to avoid the edge. Stressors may easily drive a fighter over the brink. The fall may be survivable but not necessarily be forgivable. One needs to still live with ones actions (or lack thereof). Codes of conduct are typical attempts to avoid bad behavior. However, without self insight, such things are just words.

4b. Soldier Archetypes and This Modern Warrior Archetype are alike in that both fight. Provocations differ greatly. Orders are not reactions unto themselves. Their common codes are attempts to avoid thuggery. However, it is possible to be one and become the other.

4a. Soldier Archetypes and This Modern Warrior Archetype are different products that do not necessarily intersect. The soldier is a product of systemic and systematic indoctrination; the warrior is a product of social and cultural forces.[2] Controls are dissimilar. The desire for peace is not the same for those living (as opposed to serving) in conflict. One may not even be aware of any other way.

3. Indirect means and methods may be superior strategy compared to direct, extremely violent action. Blood is over-rated. In addition, one need not suffer unnecessary stress. Objects are not people. Warriors know the difference.

2c. Retribution may be handled most effectively by carefully assessing a target’s weakness. That which is held most dear is the better target. If conflict through direct physical means is not an option, other avenues may prove just as satisfying. The moral and mental high ground may be achieved by abstaining from direct physical violence. At the very least, the enemy can be provoked and then broken. In addition, an opponent may be bled dry financially to the point of defeat. Some costs are not sustainable. All may be fair, but one should at least attempt to avoid becoming that which one despises.

2b. Occasionally, a target is just begging to be hit. One wants to strike, but realizes that consequences are not worth the cost. Those lacking such control and minimal insight have no business fighting in the first place. One must be careful not to become suckered in and down by such thugs.

2a. Before becoming immersed, depths are better viewed from great heights. Beneath the surface, many dangers may lie, especially for the mind. Sanity may be crushed by great pressure. Under most circumstances, this dark realm should be avoided. However, when absolutely necessary, one may be adequately prepared. Bathyspheres are not just for diving.

1d. One may become consumed by something larger. The sacrifice had better be worth the price. Despite hordes of pitchmen, a cause lacking positive value should not be attractive. Resistance is dependant on development. Immersed, intellectuals make among the easiest targets. Verbal Worlds translate poorly onto real world conflicts.

1c. One may become bound by something larger. One may be caught up in a moment of history. It may befall one to become embroiled in events leading toward change. The pull has appeal, but can be resisted by an act of will. Whether one has a choice or is forced, such situations are better entered with clarity. It may become necessary to apply any braking mechanisms available. All alternatives are not improvements.

1b. One may become absorbed by something larger. An obsession may produce the drive to fight. In such situations, one is particularly vulnerable to manipulation. The cause may appear to become larger and more important than life. One had best be certain about it. A good guide is whether those egging one onward are making any sacrifices themselves. If not, then perhaps the real enemy is behind.

1a. One may become subsumed into something larger. No matter if that which is greater is as base as the herd, sublime or simply necessary individuality will be compromised. As an insider, one’s perception will change. As a consequence, one must exert a will towards objectivity. Events and circumstances may permeate things into something loathsome. Lest one become a simple criminal, one must avoid the slippery slope of autonomic acceptance.

I've been having a bit of a writer's block as to this topic lately. Fortunately Travis B. took about 10 minutes of his time to provide a little direction. So, unlike other writing excercises, I will write this chapter based, on part, by another Graph by Travis B. The carrot is behind the cart.
 

On This Modern Warrior Archetype Part Four.2.4 Revisited

2d. Intra-group bonding may prove detrimental in certain situations. Detrimental actions committed by one member of the group almost always reflects badly on all members of the groups. The lack of internal discipline inevitably leads toward corruption and predation. Such behavior invites confrontation. In a technological world, as witnessed by current events, anyone sufficiently motivated can prove a threat. As previously stated, whom needs more enemies? Certain actions deserve censure or repudiation. The local standards set the bar. Yet be wary. The whole world might be watching.
