Immediate survival demands immediate attention. Preparation requires mitigation. Anticipation lessens shock. The slow can be quick to react. Some loses cannot be bought. Mathematics is not a social science.

Here's my problem with the "reality" of math.

1+1=2

Yet, my father plus my mother had 8 children so one plus one equals 10 in that reality. And depending on the time the equal number changes.

So for me math is still at best a theory to convey complex concepts in a logical manner, not to be confused with truth.

I stand by the truth razor that only the absolute truth is true.

As we are learning in the current economic crisis, numbers can lie.
